I went to Joshua Bell's concert tonight. He played Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor. It was amazing. There were so many complexities with the double stops. Not a piece I'll be able to play any time soon. He played two encores. One by a Mexican composer. I think the piece was My Little Star. That one I'm going to learn. The final encore was an excerpt from a movie he did the music for "The Red Violin". I have never made such smooth string crossings-ever. Not even by accident. It really made me wish I had more time to practice.
